lightning lesson: Word maps

This Lightning lesson is for staff who work with primary-aged children. This could include teachers, teaching assistants, SENCos, speech and language therapy assistants and other staff working in health or education.

This Lightning Lesson is part of our “going further” series. It is assumed that professionals have either completed Introduction to speech, language and communication course on the Speech and Language UK Learning Centre, or have equivalent knowledge and skills gained through other formal or informal learning, and/or relevant experience working with young people.

You will learn how to use word maps in the classroom to support children to learn and remember words.

This Lightning Lesson will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

You will be able to use word maps to help children to learn and remember words more effectively.
