An introduction to speech, language and communication
An introduction to speech, language and communication is a course aimed at staff who work with children and young people in early years, primary school, secondary school and further education. It is an introductory course: there is no assumed pre-requisite knowledge. However, the content is aimed at staff who have some experience working with children and young people in early years, primary school, secondary school or further education. The course consists of four modules. Each module will take approximately 60 minutes to complete. You can complete the modules at your own pace and in your own time. During the course you will explore topics such as typical speech and language development, speech and language challenges, and how to support all children and young people’s speech and language development.
