Our Lightning lesson Supporting young children’s speech sounds explores some practical ways you can support young children who struggle to use speech sounds when they talk. You will go away with experience of listening out for speech sound mistakes.
Intended audience
Staff working with children from birth to age five in early years settings, including nurseries, childminders and reception classes in primary schools.
Time commitments
The module will take approximately 20 minutes nto complete. You can complete the module at your own pace and in your own time.
Pre-requisite Knowledge
This Lightning Lesson is part of our “going further” series. It is assumed that professionals have either completed Introduction to speech, language and communication on the Speech and Language UK Learning Centre, or have equivalent knowledge and skills gained through other formal or informal learning, and/or relevant experience working with children.
