DLD: Spotting signs of developmental language disorder

Our Lightning lesson DLD: Spotting signs of developmental language disorder explores the different skills young people need to understand instructions. You will also learn practical ideas to improve how you give instructions in class.

Intended audience

Staff who work with secondary-aged young people. This could include teachers, teaching assistants, SENCos, speech and language therapy assistants and other staff working in health or education.

Pre-requisite Knowledge

This Lightning lesson is part of our “going further” series. It is assumed that professionals have either completed Introduction to speech, language and communication course on the Speech and Language UK Learning Centre, or have equivalent knowledge and skills gained through other formal or informal learning, and/or relevant experience working with young people.
