Developmental Language Disorder
Educational Support
Did you know that DLD affects approximately 7.6% of all children (two children in every average primary class of 30) in the UK? It’s a lifelong challenge with talking and understanding words, and it affects children and young people’s ability to communicate and learn in everyday life.
Despite how common DLD is, awareness remains low. Many people have never heard of it, and as a result, children and young people with DLD are often misunderstood or misdiagnosed – sometimes seen as having learning difficulties, behavioural issues, or other challenges.
Access our resources to learn what DLD is, how to identify it and how to support children and young people with DLD in the classroom.
